Released in March 2014 as the lead single from Jennifer Lopez’s eighth studio album, A.K.A., “I Luh Ya Papi” sees J.Lo teaming up with rapper French Montana for a playful, hip-hop-inspired track packed with synths, metallic beats, and a catchy chorus. Co-written by Jennifer and produced by Detail, the song combines cheeky innuendo with her trademark confidence and flirtatious attitude. Its music video, directed by Jessy Terrero and filmed in Miami, flips the script on traditional music-video stereotypes by objectifying men instead of women, challenging sexism in the industry. Jennifer promoted the single with a performance on American Idol and appearances at concerts throughout 2014, including a special free show in her hometown, the Bronx.

[Jennifer Lopez:]
I put it down for a brother like you
Give it to you right in the car, that’s you
