The music video for “Follow the Leader” by Wisin & Yandel, featuring Jennifer Lopez, was filmed in Acapulco, Mexico, and directed by Jessy Terrero in collaboration with Lopez’s partner, dancer and choreographer Casper Smart. The video combines high-energy reggaeton choreography with action-packed sequences set throughout the city. It opens with Lopez wearing tight latex leggings and a silver-and-black top, styled with metallic makeup and cornrow braids, as tornado sirens sound in the background. In another striking look, she wears a sparkling silver vest and white jeans while moving through the urban landscape alongside Wisin and Yandel. The storyline sees Lopez dancing with the reggaeton duo on a rooftop before embarking on a daring chase through the city, with characters crashing through windows and making dramatic jumps. In one of the video’s most memorable moments, Lopez appears with the Spanish word “líder” tattooed across her chest and a large ink design on her back. The production received additional support from the local government, which provided police cars, an ambulance, and a helicopter as part of an effort to promote Acapulco as a tourist destination. The video premiered on May 3, 2012, through Twitter and Wisin & Yandel’s official Vevo channel. Featuring product placements for brands including Dodge and BlackBerry, it later earned a nomination for Video of the Year at the 2013 Premio Lo Nuestro awards.
