The music video for Jennifer Lopez’s “Dance Again,” featuring Pitbull, was directed by Paul Hunter, a longtime collaborator who previously worked with Lopez on “If You Had My Love,” “Feelin’ So Good,” and “Papi.” The video premiered on Lopez’s Vevo channel on April 5, 2012, following a preview on American Idol. Opening with the words “Always remember… You will live, you will love, you will dance again,” the video sets an expressive, sensual tone as Lopez enters a surreal, zero-gravity room where liquid appears to float in mid-air. Inside, she encounters a group of scantily clad dancers entwined in an elaborate, provocative scene, eventually joining them in a series of intimate and energetic movements. Her then-boyfriend, dancer and choreographer Casper Smart, appears throughout the video, sharing flirtatious moments and intricate dance sequences with Lopez, including scenes in which the pair perform together while covered in glitter. The video also features Lopez in a series of bold outfits, from a black basque and high heels to a studded crop top, as she performs choreography between two dance poles. Blindfolds bearing the words “Love Is Blind” add a playful element to the couple’s scenes, while Pitbull appears seated in front of a door during his portions of the song. Combining sensual imagery, dramatic lighting, and elaborate choreography, the video explores themes of desire, freedom, and rediscovering the joy of living and dancing. It also features product placement for Lopez’s Glowing fragrance and Voli vodka, with the closing shot highlighting her perfume.
