The music video for Jennifer Lopez’s “I’m Into You,” featuring Lil Wayne, was directed by Melina Matsoukas and filmed in April 2011. The main scenes were shot at the ancient Mayan archaeological site of Chichén Itzá in Mexico, with additional footage featuring Lil Wayne filmed against a green screen in Los Angeles. The video opens with Lopez enjoying a romantic day on the beach with Cuban actor and model William Levy, who portrays her love interest. Wearing a series of glamorous outfits, she shares intimate moments with Levy while the visuals alternate between colourful imagery and black-and-white shots. The setting then shifts to the impressive ruins of Chichén Itzá, where Lopez performs on the steps of the Kukulcán pyramid in a striking snakeskin outfit, complete with a headwrap, matching bangles, and platform wedge heels. The combination of ancient architecture, tropical scenery, and sensual imagery gives the video an exotic, cinematic atmosphere. Around the three-minute mark, the song transitions into an unexpected dance breakdown featuring choreography to Lopez’s “Papi,” with two female dancers joining her. The video premiered on NBC’s Today on May 2, 2011, initially without Lil Wayne’s scenes. A second version, featuring additional shots of the rapper against a dimly lit yellow backdrop, was released on Lopez’s official Vevo channel on May 9, 2011.
