Released in 2007 as the lead single from Jennifer Lopez’s sixth studio album, Brave, “Do It Well” brought a fresh burst of disco-inspired energy to J.Lo’s sound. Written and produced by Ryan Tedder, the upbeat pop track blends infectious dance rhythms with hip-hop influences and samples Eddie Kendricks’ classic “Keep on Truckin’.” The song received mostly positive reviews for its anthemic vibe and became an international hit, reaching the top 20 in more than eleven countries and the top 10 in Hungary and Italy. Its striking music video, directed by David LaChapelle, sees Jennifer stepping in to rescue a young boy from a nightclub kitchen. She later performed the track on both the 2007 Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony en Concierto and her 2012 Dance Again World Tour.

Lyrics
Do It Well (Lyrics):
Do it, do it
You do it, do it
You’re doin’ it well
Here’s the thing
I was mindin’ my own business, doin’ what I do
I wasn’t tryna look for anythin’
All of a sudden couldn’t take my eyes off you
I didn’t even know if you could tell
That you had me in a daze sayin’ what the hell
Here’s my name, number, baby, just hit my cell
Lovin’ everything you do ’cause you do it well
Don’t know what you got me thinkin’
