Released on April 7, 2016, “Ain’t Your Mama” became one of Jennifer Lopez’s most empowering pop anthems. Blending catchy pop melodies with reggae, dancehall, and Latin influences, the track delivers a playful yet powerful message about independence and refusing to take care of a partner who won’t pull their own weight. Written by Meghan Trainor and a team of hitmakers, the song brought J.Lo’s confident attitude to the dance floor. Its accompanying music video, directed by Cameron Duddy, sees Jennifer transform into different women throughout the decades, celebrating female empowerment and the fight for equality. The single became a major international hit, reaching the top ten in several countries and earning Diamond certifications in France and Poland.

The story
Lyrics
Ain’t Your Mama (Lyrics):
I ain’t gon’ be cooking all day, I ain’t your mama
I ain’t gon’ do your laundry, I ain’t your mama
I ain’t your mama, boy, I ain’t your mama
When you’re gon’ get your act together?
I ain’t your mama
No, I ain’t your mama
No, I ain’t your mama, no
Wake up, rise and shine
Let’s get to work on time
No more playing video games
Things are about to change, ’round here, ’round here
