Blending music, fantasy, romance and autobiographical inspiration, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story offers a visually ambitious exploration of love through the eyes of Jennifer Lopez’s fictionalised alter ego, known as the Artist.
Haunted by recurring dreams and the legend of Alida and Taroo, the Artist reflects on her lifelong search for romantic fulfilment and the patterns that have repeatedly complicated her relationships. Although she longs for lasting love, her experiences have left her questioning whether happiness is something she can truly achieve with another person. Surrounded by imaginative dreamscapes, elaborate musical performances and symbolic characters, she embarks on an inward journey that exposes her insecurities, fears of abandonment and tendency to repeat destructive relationship patterns. Her friends attempt to help her recognise these behaviours, while encounters with different personalities and philosophies encourage her to reconsider what love means.
Through fantastical sequences inspired by astrology, mythology and emotional self-reflection, the Artist begins to understand that romance alone cannot resolve the wounds she carries. Her journey becomes one of self-discovery, forgiveness and reconciliation with her younger self. Rather than presenting love as a magical solution to every problem, the film suggests that meaningful relationships require personal growth and emotional honesty.
Accompanied by songs from Lopez’s album of the same name, the production combines cinematic storytelling with choreography, elaborate production design and intimate reflections on the singer’s public and private experiences. The result is a personal artistic statement about the desire to be loved, the courage to change and the importance of learning to love oneself.
