Mary Fiore is a highly organised wedding planner who specialises in creating flawless celebrations for wealthy clients. Her professional success is built on meticulous preparation, careful attention to detail and an ability to anticipate problems before they arise. However, while she can orchestrate other people’s perfect weddings, her own romantic life remains unfulfilled. One evening, Mary finds herself in a dangerous situation and is rescued by Steve Edison, a charming paediatrician. Their encounter sparks an immediate connection, and Mary begins imagining the possibility of finding the kind of romance she has spent years helping others celebrate.
Her hopes are complicated when she discovers that Steve is engaged to Fran Donolly, one of her most important clients. Bound by professional obligations, Mary attempts to suppress her feelings and concentrate on ensuring that Fran’s wedding proceeds successfully. Yet her attraction to Steve grows stronger as they continue spending time together, forcing her to question the boundaries between personal happiness and professional responsibility. Steve also finds himself uncertain about his future, caught between the expectations surrounding his engagement and the connection he shares with Mary. As the wedding approaches, the characters must confront the difference between a relationship that looks perfect from the outside and one that feels genuine from within.
Combining romantic comedy with workplace complications, The Wedding Planner explores the unpredictability of love, the conflict between duty and desire, and the possibility that happiness may require abandoning carefully constructed plans.
