Kat Valdez is an internationally famous singer whose glamorous career revolves around public appearances, hit songs and a carefully managed romantic image. Her highly publicised relationship with fellow musician Bastian culminates in plans for a spectacular live wedding ceremony before a global audience. However, shortly before the event, Kat discovers that Bastian has betrayed her, leaving her humiliated in front of millions of fans.
Faced with the collapse of her carefully constructed romantic fantasy, she makes an impulsive decision during the concert: instead of marrying Bastian, she chooses a stranger from the audience. That stranger is Charlie Gilbert, a divorced mathematics teacher who has attended the concert with his daughter. Their spontaneous marriage attracts enormous media attention, transforming Charlie into an unlikely celebrity and placing Kat’s private life under constant scrutiny.
Despite their vastly different backgrounds, the pair agree to spend time together and explore whether their unexpected connection could develop into something genuine. Kat must navigate the pressures of fame while questioning the assumptions she has made about love, happiness and public approval.
Charlie, meanwhile, struggles to understand the demands of her extraordinary lifestyle and the impact their relationship has on his family. As affection grows between them, they must decide whether their bond can survive the attention of the entertainment industry and the expectations of people around them.
Inspired by a chance encounter, Marry Me is a romantic comedy about second chances, authenticity and discovering that lasting love may arrive in a form no one could have predicted.
