In the animated science-fiction comedy Home, Jennifer Lopez voices Lucy Tucci, the devoted mother of a resourceful teenage girl named Tip. When an alien species known as the Boov arrives on Earth, its members attempt to escape their enemies by relocating humanity and reorganising the planet according to their own ideas of efficiency. The invasion disrupts everyday life and separates Tip from her mother, leaving the young girl determined to find her family.
Meanwhile, an awkward Boov named Oh becomes an outcast among his own people after accidentally sending a message that could reveal their location to a dangerous alien force. Oh and Tip form an unlikely partnership, travelling together across a transformed Earth in search of Lucy. Their contrasting personalities lead to humorous misunderstandings, but their shared goal gradually helps them develop mutual respect and affection.
As Tip learns more about Oh’s experiences, she discovers that even someone who appears completely different can become a trusted companion. Oh, in turn, begins to understand human emotions, loyalty and the importance of making choices that benefit others rather than simply seeking acceptance. Lucy’s determination to protect her daughter remains an emotional anchor throughout the story, reinforcing the importance of family connection amid the larger adventure.
