Slim Hiller believes she has found the ideal life when she marries Mitch, a successful man who initially appears loving and dependable. Their happiness is short-lived, however, as Mitch’s controlling behaviour gradually develops into a pattern of intimidation and domestic violence.
After Slim discovers the extent of his betrayal and realises that her husband is dangerous, she attempts to escape with their young daughter, Gracie. Mitch uses his wealth, influence and resources to track them down, making it increasingly difficult for Slim to establish a safe and independent life.
Repeated attempts to seek protection fail to provide the security she needs, forcing her to recognise that she cannot rely entirely on others to keep herself and her child safe. Determined to stop living in fear, Slim begins training in self-defence and develops the physical and mental discipline necessary to confront her abuser.
Her transformation is not simply about learning to fight; it is about reclaiming her confidence and refusing to accept the helplessness Mitch has imposed on her. As the conflict escalates, Slim prepares for a final confrontation that will determine whether she and Gracie can finally escape his control.
The film combines suspense and action with a story of personal empowerment, highlighting the difficulties faced by people attempting to leave abusive relationships. Slim’s journey is driven by her love for her daughter and her determination to regain control over her own life, transforming her from a frightened victim into a woman prepared to defend her future.
