Still by Jennifer Lopez was launched in September 2003, following the success of Glow and becoming one of the earliest fragrances in Lopez’s perfume collection. It offered a different interpretation of her style, moving away from Glow’s signature clean, freshly showered impression towards a more delicate and sophisticated floral composition.
Created by perfumer Michel Girard, Still combines citrus, tea, delicate flowers, musk and warm woods. Its opening features Earl Grey tea, white pepper, mandarin orange, apple and rice, creating an unusual balance of aromatic freshness, gentle spice and soft fruit. Jasmine, lily-of-the-valley, freesia, honeysuckle, orange blossom and rose form the heart, providing a rich but feminine floral bouquet. Pepper, musk, sandalwood, iris and amber create the base, adding warmth and a softly powdery finish. The fragrance’s name suggests a moment of calm, quiet confidence and personal reflection, distinguishing it from the more energetic themes of later releases such as Live.
Still became an important early entry in Lopez’s fragrance history, helping demonstrate that her perfume collection could encompass more than one interpretation of femininity. Its elegant floral profile and distinctive tea-inspired opening make it a particularly recognisable release for collectors, while its place immediately after Glow connects it to the early development of Lopez’s successful fragrance business.
