Directed by Joseph Kahn, the music video for “Dinero,” featuring DJ Khaled and Cardi B, was filmed in April 2018 and released on May 24. Shot entirely in black and white, the cinematic video offers a playful, extravagant take on Jennifer Lopez’s glamorous lifestyle, deliberately poking fun at her “Jenny from the Block” persona. Lopez appears in 13 different looks and wears an estimated $4.5 million worth of Tiffany & Co. jewelry, embracing outrageous displays of wealth throughout the clip. Among its most memorable scenes, she bowls with a diamond-covered ball, barbecues in lingerie and pearls while sipping a crystal-encrusted Slurpee, roasts marshmallows over a burning pile of cash and walks a pet ostrich on a leash. The concept was designed to move beyond the typical reggaeton, bachata or hip-hop video, using humour, striking imagery and lavish styling to bring the song’s themes to life. An alternate vertical version, directed by Steven Gomillion, premiered exclusively on Spotify on June 12, 2018, featuring Lopez cruising through Las Vegas in a convertible while lip-syncing to the track.
