Baby I Love U!

The music video for Jennifer Lopez’s “Baby I Love U!” was directed by Meiert Avis and premiered on BET on August 11, 2003. Taking a minimalist and intimate approach, the video features Lopez singing the song in the quiet surroundings of her home. Scenes show her relaxing in bed and walking through the house while performing the track, with close-up shots and shifting camera focus creating a soft, understated visual style. In contrast to the elaborate choreography and high-energy settings of many of her previous videos, the production places the emphasis on Lopez’s expressions and the song’s romantic sentiment. An alternative version released on MTV incorporates scenes from her romantic comedy Gigli (2003), starring Lopez and Ben Affleck. The original video was later included on her first music video compilation, The Reel Me (2003).
