The music video for “No Me Ames” presents a tragic love story inspired by classic European cinema, which Jennifer Lopez envisioned while recording the duet with Marc Anthony. Directed by Kevin Bray in Los Angeles, the video was filmed immediately after Lopez completed shooting for “If You Had My Love.”
The story features Lopez and Anthony as devoted lovers whose time together is cut short when Anthony’s character succumbs to an unnamed illness. Following his death, his spirit remains behind to comfort and watch over a grieving Lopez. Described by Lopez as feeling like a foreign film, the video earned a Latin Grammy Award nomination for Best Short Form Music Video and was later released on her 2003 compilation DVD, The Reel Me.
