Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez says her new TV series will show that there is no perfect image of a family and what matters is “love”. The show features a same-sex couple raising adopted, biological and foster children, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
The 43-year-old said: “I am a non-traditional family. Me being a single mom, their dad doesn’t live at home with them. They have three stepbrothers from two moms, that’s not traditional. Do I want my children to feel weird about that? No I don’t. So putting a show like this one to me is, look, there is no perfect (image of) what family is supposed to be.”
Lopez, who is currently dating dancer Casper Smart, divorced actor Marc Anthony in 2011 and is raising five-year-old twins, Maximilian and Emme.
“The show is about love and that’s what I constantly remind myself of because I kind of let society get inside my head, ‘Oh, it shouldn’t be like this. I did this, I did that. I failed,’ And it’s like, no. They’re happy, they’re healthy, they’re loved more than anything in the world and they’re going to be fine. I want them to know that,” she added.
She’s no stranger to daring wardrobe choices, but Jennifer Lopez may have gone too far with her skimpy attire and sexy dance movies during her performance on “Britain’s Got Talent” on May 28th. The “Waiting For Tonight” songstress took the stage and sang her new single “Live It Up,” however after the dust settled, network execs were busy fielding complaints.
A rep from television regulation company Ofcom told press, “Ofcom can confirm that it has received complaints about the Britain’s Got Talent broadcast last night, which we are assessing but not currently investigating.”

Jennifer Lopez has spoken of the wonders that cooking plays in creating normalcy in her family home.
The 41-year-old star has two-year-old twins, Emme and Max, with singer hubby Marc Antony. She told Glamour magazine, “I like to cook Puerto Rican food. That’s what I grew up on, rice, beans, meat, and some Italian-American food. “I know my way around the kitchen. Marc doesn’t cook, but he will prepare an occasional turkey.”
Lopez also discussed her struggle to regain her famous curves after pregnancy, saying, “It takes a year. You’re not going to get slim in six weeks. For me, it’s been back and forth. Now, two years later, I feel back to normal.”
